Matthew Huntley Hurricane Isaac





         Isaac, a category 1 hurricane is going through Louisiana today.  Today also marks the 8th year anniversary of Katrina while Isaac is in Louisiana. It has 75 miles per hour sustained winds. It is about 45 miles away from New Orleans, Isaac is traveling at 7-8 miles per hour.  500,000 people have lost power from the storm, Isaac, in Louisiana. 

The worst hit part from Isaac is Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. The gulf side levee was leaked over by water. People who were ordered to leave earlier in the week had to go to high ground because the water that filled up the town. The town of Plaquemines is like a bowl so the water is in the town at about fourteen feet high. Isaac has also cost 150,000 people in Mississippi to lose power
