Where The Red Fern Grows By:Tiffany Von Tungeln

Where The Red Fern Grows is a great family tear jerker. Directed by Norman Tokar, and written by Wilson Rawls, this story will surely bring you to tears. It is about a young boy who wanted two coon hound dogs to hunt with, and he worked so hard to save up a lot of money. Before he knew it, he could afford two puppies, which he named them Dan and Anne. They were trained to hunt for raccoons with him in the forrest, and soon they were catching every coon in the forest. The boy and both dogs grew very close until there was a tragedy one night while they were out.
In my opinion this was a very good movie, but it could have been better. For its day and age, it was one of the saddest, and greatest movie of its time. I wish the quality would have been a little bit better. It would have enhanced the film and the way it affected you. For this reason, there was a remake in 2003. You should see it!
