The movie, The Bourne Legacy, was very interesting. In this movie, the audience meets a new main character, Aaron Cross, who is a CIA assassin and member of Operation Outcome. All members of Operation Outcome are consistently given pills called “chems” to enhance their physical and mental abilities. After too much about their work is uncovered, it is recommended that all participants in Operation Outcome be killed. An attempt is made on the life of Cross, who we meet in Alaska. However, he escapes. All agents, as well as the scientists who inject the “chems” are killed, except for Cross and scientist Dr. Morta Stearing. Stearing, scared but unaware of her part in Operation Outcome, plans on visiting her sister to escape the horrible memories of having watched her co-workers die.
Upon finding that she was not killed along with her colleagues as previously thought, CIA assassins attempt to murder Stearing, but she is rescued by Cross. He convinces her to help him locate the “chems.” While working together, he discovers that his body has been genetically wired to only need the pill that enhances his psychological abilities. Cross and Stearing set out for the Philippines where the pills are produced. They discuss and come up with a painful plan to lower the dosage of the blue-colored “chem” until Cross no longer needs the drug. Cross goes through horrible withdrawals but is finally free of his dependence. In the meantime, those in charge of the CIA’s clandestine forces send another secret agent, Larx. to kill both Cross and Stearing. Several intense chase scenes follow, but in the end Cross and Stearing escape. The movie ends with the two main characters peacefully sailing the Pacific Ocean together.
I liked this movie and would recommend it to others who like action movies with lots of twists and turns.
