Movie Review: Act of Valor- by: Jared Hill

Act of Valor came out on February 24th, 2012 and was produced by Kurt Johnstad. The movie is about U.S. Navy SEALs who fight for the protection of our nation. They are assigned missions that require sacrifice and everything that they have. These men are the most mentally and physically tough soldiers in the world. Seals have to leave their families and friends behind and go into danger knowing that they might die. However they know that they are serving their country for a better world. This movie portrays “Acts of Valor”, brave attempts such as jumping on a grenade to save your fellow squad members.

Act of Valor is one of my favorite movies of all time because it shows you the reality of how much a Navy SEAL must endure. Also not just the SEALs, but their families must bear with the thought of their dad or husband could die. SEALs must be mentally ready and cannot be distracted by thoughts of problems at home. The reason for that is so the SEAL can devote his focus entirely to the mission and this increases the chance of success in the mission. This is a violent movie, but it has many great themes in it like family, friendship, truth, serving your country, and doing what is right. It deserves a five-star rating.
