Movie Review of Big Trouble in Little China by Evan Fausz

Well I’m reviewing the movie called “Big Trouble in Little China.” It is an old film ,but I just saw it recently. It is the story of a man named Jack Burton, a truck driver, who gets swept into a mess regarding ancient evil chinese sorcerer Lo Pan. He must save his friends fiancee and he must take on Lo Pans three immortal warriors. Lo pan needs to marry a woman with green eyes to get his physical form back. He also has to get back his stolen truck.

The movie had a commercial failure. Grossing much less then expected, it was called a failure, but once it went to dvd it got a much better reception then before. I thought for the time it came out the effects were ok. The acting in the film I thought to be good, but others may have different opinions then me. The story to me was interesting, but could use some work. Overall I would recommend this to someone who was bored but not to someone who is really into movies.

"Tiger Wood's Earnings" by Ian Romine

Recently in the world of Professional Golf, Tiger Woods earnings have surpassed $1 billion. He attained this after finishing third in the Deustche Bank Championship on Monday, and earning a total of $544,000. Tiger Woods has been enjoying this success ever since he joined the PGA tour in 1996. The only two people who come close to Tiger’s earnings are Michael Jordan and Michael Schumacher.

Michael Jordan, having a Nike endorsement, annually earns $45 million.

Schumacher, an accomplished race car driver has earned a total of $700 million in his career, which began with his Formula 1 debut in 1991. These numbers still don’t even come close to how much money Tiger has obtained in just the past 16 years. These earnings have a lot to do the times we are living in. Where athletes earn millions every year for just showing up to a game. I think we need to get back to when athletes didn’t earn huge amounts of cash and they genuinely enjoyed playing the game.

"The Hunger Games" By: Maggie Crabb

The Hunger Games is a movie about a girl named Katniss, who volunteers to take her sisters place in a very dangerous game. This game is called the hunger games. The hunger games is a game where they take a boy and girl from each of the twelve districts and train them to fight. They can each use their own talents to fight. At the end of this training, they stick them in an arena and they are forced to fight and kill each other. The last person alive wins and gets to go home to their district. While in this arena, Katniss and the boy from her district start to fall in love. But there can only be one winner...

The director of this movie is Gary Ross. There is also a book series. If you have not seen this movie, I really suggest that you watch it. It is an awesome movie!

One of the things that is being talked about a lot at school is homecoming. 

Everyone is excited for homecoming. They are all trying to figure out what to 

wear and if they want to be in groups or not. I am probably won`t dress out 

because I don`t want to go spend money on the outfits. All the girls are going to 

dress up probably so it should be a fun week.

Another thing people are talking about is the football team. They got beat 

last week by Tanner and it was a very disappointing loss because people expect 

us to get to state this year. We need to bounce back and win this one friday so we 

can still win the region and make the playoffs. That is all the social stuff I have for

Justin Blackmon

Justin Blackmon a former Oklahoma State wide receiver and fifth round draft pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars recently ran into some trouble. Besides being a two-time Biletnikoff winner as college football’s top receiver, Blackmon made national news for two DUI arrests in a 20-month period, the most recent June 4 in Stillwater. Two days after police reports revealed Blackmon’s blood-alcohol level was 0.24, three times the legal limit, Blackmon apologized to Jaguar fans. He said he doesn’t have an alcohol problem. He vowed to stop drinking. Last week, Blackmon said he hasn’t had alcohol since.

Blackmon has incentive to avoid another slip. Blackmon, who was the last first-round pick to sign, received a guaranteed four-year $18.5 million deal. But the contract is fully guaranteed only if Blackmon isn’t suspended for off-the-field issues.

“I’ve put it behind me,” Blackmon said. “I just move on and go forward. There’s not much I can do. I’m ready to play football.”

I don’t have a whole lot to talk about. But I do know that a week or so ago, Apple sued Samsung and got a lot of money for it. Hurricane Isaac hit Louisiana and did a lot of damage to a lot of roads and highways. A lot of poor illegal immigrants died while in a fishing boat and they drowned in Libya.

Another thing is that internet piracy is being taken a lot more seriously lately. A lot of college football players got kicked of the team or the school for doing drugs. A lot more drugs have been involved with sports lately. Also a lot of places across the world have been having many violence issues.

I saw that this man named Osama. I have never heard of him was doing awful things like planning a terrorist attack and what not. I hear there going to attack the twin towers. That would be horrible. He needs to be stopped I think the army should track him down and kill him but thats my opinion and that doesn’t matter to much.

I think if this keeps going others will be encouraged to act like him. That might cause something like Kony 2012 i don’t know what that is but its sounds bad like the Kony at sonic. So they need to stop him ASAP before the I don’t know high jack a plane or something. That would be terrible.
